Tracy M. Barbee is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is the owner of Fountain of Hope Counseling Center (FOHCC), where she is also a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, & the co-owner of The Marriage Builders, LLC.

Tracy has over 10 years of experience in social services delivery, working as a case manager, CPS supervisor, and counselor in a variety of agencies and capacities with diverse groups of people throughout metropolitan Atlanta and the Hampton Roads area.  She has over 25 years of counseling experience in the mental health and marriage & family field.

Tracy is the owner of Fountain of Hope Counseling Center, LLC, a private counseling practice located in Chesapeake, Virginia, that offers a variety of services to the community such as: counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups who deal with anxiety, depression, addictions, mood disorders, and a variety of other mental health issues.  FOHCC also offers has a medicine provider who can prescribe medication to our clients who need additional help to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.  And, because FOHCC takes a holistic approach to counseling, a dietitian is also on staff to assist our clients with understanding the link between their diets and their mental health, how food effects mood, weight control, and much more.

She is also the co-owner of The Marriage Builders, LLC (TMB).  TMB is a couples counseling service, created by Tracy & her husband Derrick, that offers a variety of services designed to assist couples with laying the foundation for a healthy & prosperous relationship or with replacing a crumbling foundation with a strong new groundwork.

Tracy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Pre-Law from Central State University, a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling from Luther Rice University, and a Master of Science degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Capella University.  She also has additional graduate studies in English from the University of Akron and is a Certified Integrative Medicine Provider.  She is a member of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Coronavirus Notice

We at Fountain of Hope Counseling Center are working to keep our office open and accessible while continuing to provide excellent care. We take our responsibility to you, our clients, as well as our employees very seriously.

We are following and have implemented recommendations from the CDC/MDH including increasing the frequency of disinfecting public areas and offices. We are encouraging our employees to stay home if they are not feeling well. Similarly, if you or a loved one have been affected by COVID-19, in that you are experiencing signs or symptoms like a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or have been in contact with someone experiencing these symptoms or have traveled internationally in the last 14 days we would ask you to please stay home and change your appointment to a video telehealth session, which can take place from the comfort of your home.

Video sessions, or telehealth, are covered by your insurance in the same way it would cover a face-to-face session and are HIPPA secure. NO downloads are required and it’s easy to access by computer or smart phone with just a few clicks. Our staff will gladly walk you through connecting to the video platform should you have any questions.

If you are ill and want to change your appointment to a video session or need to cancel your appointment, give us a 24 hour notice for any changes.

We will inform you of any changes to our business practices as updates occur from CDC/MDH.
