FAQ’s

Ultimately, the decision to seek counseling on any issue is yours to make. The better question to ask may be “can professional counseling help me achieve the results I want?”.

In this case, the answer is often yes.

A professionally trained counselor can help provide valuable insight into your current life situation, whatever it may be. Not only will we listen without shame or judgement, but we can help teach skills and methods that will empower you to make real changes in your life.

The first session can vary greatly from person to person. Ultimately, much of it is left up to you. If you just want to chat, we can do that. If you want to dive right into your personal problems and/or frustrations, we’re ready to listen.

Some questions are just too difficult to answer in a simple FAQ. The length of time needed for counseling depends on many factors. For some situations, it may take 2-3 months. For others, counseling may become a regular part of their life like visiting the doctor.

That said, you’ll likely start to notice a difference even after a few sessions.

If you and your significant other are dealing with some issues, it’s generally best to first seek counseling together. If issues persist or the relationship is hostile, separate sessions might be a better alternative.

The best way to get a clear answer is to contact us directly and discuss your current situation.

Insurance coverage ultimately depends on your insurance provider, as well as the conditions you’re dealing with. At our practice, we work with insurance providers to make sure you get the counseling you need.
